My Colour Challenge Sample

Thought I'd better show you what I came up with using the colour challenge colours. DD1's teacher has asked me to come up with some ideas for the class to make for Father's Day. Nothing better than being prepared! So I thought I'd use the colours to inspire this creation.

Just to remind you.....here are the colours that we are using.

And here is my end result.

I have turned this into the top of a box to put a gift into, as you can see here.
Looking forward to seeing your entries......

Things come in threes....Part 2

also know as.......Kym's Bridal Shower Card.
I had a lovely time yesterday with DD1 and the other ladies at Kym's Bridal Shower.....very relaxing to be served high tea with lots of delicious nibblies.....
Anyway, here is the card that I made for Kym ....
I've used Baja Breeze cardstock, and scalloped the edge to make an interesting opening. I've also used Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla cardstock, RHR and BB inks, and VV taffeta ribbon, which I've topped with a BB button, and some gold cord (retired SU). Stamp sets are Priceless (the background swirl) and Greetings Eight (the umbrella).
Here is a close up of the bow........loving these at the moment.....

Simple, but elegant! Hope you like it.....

A CASE.....

Have you ever wondered what CASE stood for? When I first started stamping and blog surfing, it was an acronym that I saw everywhere. It took me a little while to realise that it stood for Copy And Share Everything. Makes sense now, hey.

When I saw the current mini catty from SU, I loved the Fox and Friends stamp set, so it was one of the first sets that I purchased. When my good friend and downline, Anna, said to me last week, "Let's do some scrapbooking......I want to CASE that page in the catty with Fox and Friends" I said YES.....

Here is the page from the catty....
And here is my version.....it's a little bright, but I took the colours from the photos, namely Brilliant Blue and Only Orange.

(sorry.....photo is intentionally small and a little blurry......I have a thing about kids photos online, but you get the general idea.)

As I don't have the same alphabet stamp set as in the example, I had to be a bit creative, and this is what I came up with......Using the Jumbo Outline Alphabet I stamped a background with the letter of choice, and then stuck the animal up on dimensionals.....YES I did cut out each one.

Here is a close up of the monkey......

.....and here are two of the other animals.....the giraffe and the fox.

(dodgy photo taking....I promise that they are the same size IRL.)
Hope you like them.....

A Wedding....

Why is it that things seem to come in threes? I now have a wedding to go to, and need to make another wedding card, as well as the acceptance and bridal shower cards.
First thing's first, so here is the acceptance card. Stay tuned for the other's soon!!( read here - cards still to be made - LOL)

This creation is based on a Mojo Monday sketch, and is done is Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Apricot Appeal and Whisper White . DSP is a retired one, and the hearts are from Greetings Eight and the background is the Polka Dot background stamp.
Here is a close up of the detail.

These are not colours that I have put together before, and I'm still not sure about it, but I think it is because they aren't my normal choice. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I'm open to constructive criticism.

My First Blog Award.

Hi everyone......

My friend and fellow stamper Louise Sutton has given me a blog award. Here it is.....Ta Dah....

I am supposed to tell you 10 things about myself that you may not know........HHHMMM this is actually hard.
  1. I haven't been in my craft room to do any serious crafting for about a month. I'm feeling very deprived.
  2. I spent an hour today with 22 very keen girls teaching them how to made clipboards - I volunteer at school to teach the kids stamping!
  3. The last book I read was called Hornet Moth by Ken Follet - a very good read.
  4. The book previous to that was the Golden Compass trilogy - another very good read.
  5. I am a closet Twilight and Harry Potter fan.
  6. I started card making when a girlfriend gave me a collection of paper offcuts and asked me to see what I could come up with - waving at you Suzanne.......
  7. The very first stamp that I ever bought was a self inking red bumble bee stamp like my grade 2 teacher had. (Seems I caught the stamping bug early!)
  8. My favourite movie is Notting Hill - hubby and I saw it on our honeymoon........aaawwwww
  9. I still love listening to George Micheal, even after all these years.
  10. My favourite colour is green - I love Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive, but have recently been swayed to Green Galore also.

I am also supposed to link this post to 10 other blogs that I follow. I kind of feel a bit weird about giving people who don't necessarily know me an award. So I thought I'd made a list of the blogs that I check most regularly. Some of these lovely ladies have already recieved a blog award, and it is very well deserved.

Hope you enjoy touring these wonderful places for inspiration.
