Sheltering Tree.....

I wanted to have another go at the Colour Q colour palette #296 this week.

I combined it with Retro Sketches # 169

And here is the card.....it's a bigger than usual card, measuring 14cm square.  I've brayered the background of the stamped image, and then used the tree stamped off to create the reflection idea.  I've also stamped the snow images in Marina Mist and then overstamped each with Whisper White craft ink. I've then edged the Daffodil Delight card base with some Faux Stitching, using Night of Navy Stamp'n'Write Marker.

Colours: Whisper White, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight
Stamps: Sheltering Tree
Other: Brights Candy Dots, Candy Dot brad base, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder,
blue and white bakers twine from my stash.

A little Christmas in June.....

I spent today with one of my very best girlfriends.....and even with 7 children between us, we managed to get some stamping done!!!  We decided to get a head start on our Christmas cards for this year, and we chose from the stash some (retired :-( ) Christmas product from past years.  Thought you might like to have a quick look at what we made.....

Card 1 - Rudolph

Very simple but loving the red nose......use the smallest pearl from the Basic Pearl pack and colour it with a red Sharpie permanent marker.

Card 2.....Penguin.

Stamp twice, once in Basic Black, once in Real Red.  Fussy cut the beanie and scarf and pop up with little pieces of dimensionals.

Card 3 - Snowman scene

Stamp the tree 3 times, making sure that the middle tree is slightly higher.  Fussy cut and pop with dimensionals your snowman.  Punch border is just 2 large ovals punch and attached to the back of the sentiment.

Card 4 - Christmas Cheer.

Celebrating the DSP pattern.....a very simple (if large) sentiment panel with a sideways bow.  I still love the wide grosgrain ribbon - long since retired, but a favourite none the less....thank goodness my girlfriend has quite a supply!!!  Ties the most gorgeous bows.

Colours: Whisper White, Real Red, Baked Brown Sugar, Garden Green, Soft Sky, Basic Black
Stamps: Cheerful Christmas, No Peeking (both retired), Wondrous Wreath
Other: Nordic Noel DSP, Basic Pearls, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon

Happy 21st......

My nephew had his 21st birthday last weekend, and we are celebrating this coming weekend with a family birthday dinner.  I saw this week's colour palette over at Colour Q, and decided that I would use it to create this card.

What a perfect colour combo for a masculine card!  Though I have to admit, it's a combination that has many, many applications.

Anyhoo.....here's my card.

Did you like the layered punch border?  I punched out 2 Marina Mist and 2 Night of Navy label brackets, cut them in half, and then attached them to the back of the Daffodil Delight punched shape, making sure that each time I attached them that I had a similar border around the edge.

So easy to do!!

Colours:  Whisper White, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight
Stamps: Dotty Angles, Memorable Moments (retired but such great numbers!)
Other: Label Bracket Punch, embellishments from my stash.

You've Got..... TGIF CC&S #129

I really am enjoying using this flower from You've Got This....this time I've used it to create a wedding card for the TGIF Challenge #08 Together Forever,

(apologies for lack of image - technical difficulties :-( )

And I've combined it with the colour palette from CAS Colours and Sketches #129

So here is my card......

I've watercoloured the flower on Shimmery White Cardstock, and then fussy cut the entire flower, then popped it up using dimensionals over a second stamped image of the flower.

Colours: Shimmery White, Basic Gray, Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush
Stamps: You've Got This, Petite Pairs
Other: Dotted Lace Trim, Dimensionals, Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Aqua painter

Watercoloured You've Got This......

I've been playing with my new favourite set.....You've Got This.

I did a different style of card this time.... orientation, colour palette and style.

Here 'tis.....

I've watercoloured the flower quite extensively, using watercolour paper, aqua painter and ink.  I've also added a touch more colour to the stem, this time just picking up a little of the Cucumber Crush ink and quickly applying it inside the already green outline of the stem and leaves.

I've also backed the Dotted Lace Trim Ribbon with Whisper White cardstock, to allow the colour to stand out against the darker background card.

Here's a close up of the watercoloured flower.  All done using Watermelon Wonder ink picked up from the lid of the ink pad.  I've added the colour to the stamens (I think that's what you call them - but I am generally horticultural-ly challenged) using the Stamp'n'Write marker.

Colours: Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe.
Stamps: Petite Pairs, You've Got This
Other: Watercolour paper, aqua painter, basic rhinestones, Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim Ribbon

Floral Birthday Wishes....

I saw the colour palette at this weeks Fusion challenge and loved it.....so decided to play along.

I decided to combine the photo inspiration with the sketch challenge over at CAS(E) this Sketch #128

So....here's the card.....

I've used the new Banner Triple punch to make by banner strip, and extended it over the edge of my card base for interest.  I've also created the background DSP.....not sure if it's got a 'proper' name or not, but I really like the effect.  Here are two close ups....

Colours: Daffodil Delight, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, Black
Stamps: Flower Shop, Build a Birthday
Other: Shimmer White Cardstock, Crystal Effects, Sponge Daubers, Basic Rhinestones

Pool Party Butterfly....

This card was created to enter the Colour Q Challenge #294, using the colours in the graphic below.

I am really enjoying creating with Butterfly Basics at the moment.

I particularly like the background block that I've stamped with So Saffron.....then lots of layered stamping with the other images from the set.  It's almost hard to believe that the card is all one layer, except for the butterfly!!    I have also added a little more Pool Party colour to the flower.

Ink Colours: Pool Party, So Saffron, Hello Honey, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Shimmery White
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
