Santa's Gifts.....

I've been getting some Christmas cards together for a project I'm working on.  This one is using Santa's Gifts.  I love the way you can use the individual stamps to create a scene with this set.

Santa is taking his present over to the Christmas Pine Tree, which is scene on the DSP.  Love the simplicity of this card.  I've coloured the image with my Stamp'n'Write markers.

Colours: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Grey, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Blush Blossom, Smokey Slate
Stamps: Santa's Gifts, Petite Pairs.
Other: Dazzling Diamonds.

Final Christmas SAS Card.....

This is the final card from the class last weekend, and probably my favourite.  I just love the Bermuda Bay sequin trim, which I've separated each sequin from the roll to make the baubles on my Lovely as a Tree pine tree.

Simple, elegant and just divine.

Did you spot the sneak peek in there?

Colours: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Memento Tuxedo Black.
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Layered Letters Aphabet, Holly Jolly Greetings.
Other: Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack #2

I posted (a couple of posts ago) about one of the cards from my last Christmas Stamp-a-Stack.  This is the second card I created for the class.  I like to try and stretch a stamp set which isn't a traditional Christmas set, and apply it in a Christmas-y way.  That's what I've done with this card.

Stamps: Chalk Lines, Build a Birthday, Wondrous Wreath
Colours: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzelberry
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonds.

Happy Birthday Miss 8....

One of my sons best friends is turning 8 tomorrow.....so tonight I've whipped up this card especially for her. I've used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #137 again, cause it's so on trend at the moment, with the offset panel, and Miss 8 is very trendy!  ;-)

I've raided my stash for some cute little birds DSP and I've used a Hero Arts stamp "Girl holding Flowers" as the focal image.

I've coloured her using my Stamp'n'Write markers onto Whisper White cardstock.  I also added a touch of sparkle to the flowers using a clear Wink of Stella Brush, which was a gift from a good friend. (Hogs J xx)  Here's a close up.

Colours: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay, Blush Blossom, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Basic Black.

Case this Tree.....

I thought I'd share with you a set of cards that I created for my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Class tomorrow.

But first, I have to tell you about my new love!!!! It's amazing.  Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  I can't believe how fantastic it is.  Stamps just like traditional Whisper White, but is actually thicker than our coloured cardstock.  Absolutely perfect for those white base cards.

I based the sketch for the cards on CAS(E) this Sketch #137.

Here are the cards.......

Spotty...

Dotty....

Floral.....

and Tinsel.

Don't you love what I did there???  Hehe

Here's the photo of the gang all together.

Stamps: Festival of Trees
Colours: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Other: Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

Butterfly Bookmarks.....

My children's school holds a bush dance every year, which is their annual fundraising event.  Each year level is in charge of a 'stall' to supply stock and man (or more likely 'woman') for the evening, taking sales.  This year my youngest's year level is looking after the mystery bag stall....kind of like a lucky dip, but they pick a number and get the bag with the same number.  Most have lollies and small toys in them, but one year we won a Maxwell Williams cup which was very cool!   I decided to create some bookmarks with some huge paperclips that I have had in my stash for EVER...so glad to finally get to make something with them.

These paperclips are about 4 inches/10 cm long.  The silver circle punch out in the centre of the scallop is the 2 inch circle punch.  Just to give you a point of reference for size.

I used Watercolour Wings to stamp the butterflies, and took my colour palette from the colours of the paper clips.

Stamps: Watercolour Wings
Colours: Perfect Plum,  Whisper White, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Elegant Eggplant
Other: Silver Foil Paper.

Lovely Garden....

This is another card I came up with using English Garden DSP.... this time I've used a very simple and versatile sketch that was one of the very first I ever played with.

It's so easy to flip this sketch in any direction!

Here's the full card.

Obviously there are a few more layers involved as I've stepped the sketch up a bit.  I also love the way that both sides of the same DSP sheet compliment each other so well.

Stamps: A Whole Lot of Lovely
Colours: Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Other: English Garden DSP, Pearls.

Flower Throwdown.....

This is my first time entering into TGIF Challenge blog August Throwdown.
The rules of this challenge are a little different to other challenges....your creations are limited by a specific list of products that you are able to use.....if it's not on the list, you can't use it.

I was limited by....no rhinestones or pearls (and a girls got to have her bling!!), no circle punches, or other punches for that matter..... and no pool party ink.  Thank goodness for silver glimmer paper and scissors.....in this photo you can clearly see that I've fussy cut the centres of the flower!!  Need to practise my circle cutting, I think.

So without further ado......here's my full card.

Stamps: Flower Patch
Colours: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Tuxedo Black
Other: Silver Glimmer Paper, dimensionals, glue dots, snail.

Hope you enjoy your weekend, everyone....

Serene Thoughts.....

When I saw the colour palette over at Colour Q this week, my thoughts immediately went to a sunset over water.....the colours just called to me for this style of card.

So here is my card..... I know I have black on there which is not actually on the palette, but I'm hoping that the ladies of the challenge will forgive me.

I've also been playing with the reflection technique in the card.....a simple technique and one of the very first that I learnt, way back in 2008....

Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, Thoughts and Prayers.
Colours: Bermuda Bay, So Saffron, Hello Honey, Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Memento Tuxedo Black
Other: Rhinestones

English Thanks......

This week has been a little out of the norm in our house......our eldest leaves for a 5 week school camp in 10 sleeps.....lets just say that I NEVER thought I'd be labelling that many pairs of socks!!!

I did get a chance to sit down a whip up a couple of cards with the gorgeous English Garden DSP.....I think I have a new favourite product!! (and it would seem an addiction to double exclamation marks!!)  I used the direction of the stripes on the reverse side of the floral paper as the stimulus for cutting the DSP, then the sketch just fell into place.

I teamed it with the hostess set A Whole Lot of Lovely.... which I HAD to have, as lovely is one of my favourite endearments for my friends.
(Waving at you all my lovelies!!!!!)

Here's the full card.

Stamps: A Whole Lot of Lovely
Colours: Hello Honey, Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Other: English Garden DSP, Pearls, Stamp'n'Write markers
