Tag, You're It!....

 

I've discovered a new challenge site, called Tag, You're It!  They are all about CAS tags.  So I thought I'd enter a little tag that I made using some paper I created when playing with a new technique that I'm refining for July's technique class.

 

Here's my entry into the Tag, You're It! Challenge #23

 

And here is a close up of the tag. If you look really closely, you'll see the Tempting Turquoise honeycomb in the background of the tag.

Birthday Watercoloured Fusion.....

 

What????

 

I know.....sorry....just had to do it.  Crazy title. Must be because this is my 4th post for today....not sure if that's a record or not.  I've spent a lazy Saturday at my craft desk, making cards.  This one is for a work friend who is after some special birthday cards....I think you can just see the 'happy' list down the side of the navy flag in the photo above???

 

I've combined two challenges for the inspiration for this card, Fusion and TGIF.

More Sympathy....

 

Two sympathy cards for work friends in a week.....hmmmm....

 

Hopefully the lovely lady receiving this card will be able to draw some brightness to her day with the colours featured in this card.

 

I've used Retro Sketches #166 for the sketch inspiration and Colour Q #293 for the colour palette.  

 

 *** Edited to add....when I went to link up to Retro Sketches, I'd missed the link by 6 minutes.....:-(

Here's my card.

 

 

I've stretched the sketch a little, using the drape of the flowers as the flag, the colour washes as the straight line and the bow as the cloud. The rest of the layout is fairly true to the sketch.

CASology #149 Vintage....

 

I was so excited when I saw this challenge from CASology.....Vintage.  The post says " we are curious to see what this cue word brings to mind."  My immediate thought was this card......

 

 

#1Vintage .....I will admit this card has been in my box of my favourite cards that I can't part with for quite a while....yes we are talking years.

 

#2 Vintage...... Quilts, Quilts, Quilts....in the background technique and in the stamped image, which is made from a series of little block stamps (from PTI,  borrowed them from a friend ages ago so I don't have any idea what they are called....sorry)

 

#3 Vintage......Holly Hobby, the little girl character from my bed sheets and bedroom curtains when I was a little girl....in pink....and I'm happy to say the sheets are still in my linen cupboard, although (sadly) my girls are now too old to use them.   The middle image of the stamped block reminds me of her.

 

 

#4 Vintage.....old favourite In Colours from Stampin' Up!.....these are Blushing Bride (still current and now in the Subtles collection) and Concord  Crush.... mixed in with Pretty in Pink, both of which are retired.

 

 So while not technically a CAS card....  here is my entry!

Happy Saturday.....  I'm so in need of this long weekend!  Time to relax and just 'be'.

 

I've spent today making a couple of cards for some coming challenges....this is the first.  It's a combined challenge card....ready to be entered into CC&S Colours and Sketches Challenge #127 and CAS(E) this Sketch #126

I promise....it really looks better IRL.  I particularly like the technique on the Watermelon Wonder flower....close up at the top of this post.

CTS #125 With Sympathy.....

 

Sympathy cards are never easy to make..... but when I do have the sad occasion to make one, I like to ensure that the card is simple and elegant.  I try to chose colours that will resonate with the person I'm making the card for. 

 

The gentleman this card is for will appreciate the bright colours, as he is (usually) such an inspiration to others.  

 

 

 

And on a positive note.....I'm loving the new green in the 2015-17 In Colours.... Cucumber Crush!

#TGIFC05 Remix

 

This is my entry into TGIF Monthly Remix Challenge.....what a cool challenge to think of!!

 

Basically, you choose 2 of the previous challenges from the month and combine them.  I've chosen to combine #01 and #04

 

 

 

 

 

 

Obviously, I've used the colours from #01 but I've taken a couple of ideas from #04.  I've taken the grid idea for the background and created it with the lined stamp image from Gorgeous Grunge.  I've also used the 'splotch' from GG to recreate the idea of the little yellow flowers on the background.   I've also chosen to use a leaf and flower motive as the focal image.

 

 

There is also a technique on there that I will be teaching at my next technique class.....Can you guess what it might be?
