Acrylic Block Spritz.....

 

That's the way I've made the background for these cards......I used my stamp pad to add colour to my acrylic block and then I spritzed with water before stamping onto Whisper White.....Don't you love the way the colours blend together?

Casing Myself.....

 

Have you ever heard the term 'CASE' used in reference to stamping and wondered what it meant?  Well CASEing means to Copy And Share Everything.   It's the ultimate form of flattery to a cardmaker or stamper to have someone CASE our work.  It's just important to give credit where credit is due to the creator of the inspiration card.  I take a lot of inspiration from the Stampin' Up! catalogues, and will often springboard my creating with a new set from the catties.

 

But this time I've CASEd myself. 

 

You might remember this card from a post I did in May.....

 

I used it as a CASE idea for the card I taught at my latest technique class, where a tech we learnt was how to 'kiss'......with stamps!!

 

Here's my new card.

 

 

As you can see, the sketch is basically the same.....I've changed the colours and sentiment stamp, and omitted the larger yellow splodge stamp. The focal image remains the same, as does the technique and fussy cut flowers.

 

Colours: Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Whisper White

Stamps: Crazy About You, Happy Birthday Everyone, Gorgeous Grunge

Other: Basic Pearls, Stamp-a-ma-jig

#TGIFC05 Remix

 

This is my entry into TGIF Monthly Remix Challenge.....what a cool challenge to think of!!

 

Basically, you choose 2 of the previous challenges from the month and combine them.  I've chosen to combine #01 and #04

 

 

 

 

 

 

Obviously, I've used the colours from #01 but I've taken a couple of ideas from #04.  I've taken the grid idea for the background and created it with the lined stamp image from Gorgeous Grunge.  I've also used the 'splotch' from GG to recreate the idea of the little yellow flowers on the background.   I've also chosen to use a leaf and flower motive as the focal image.

 

 

There is also a technique on there that I will be teaching at my next technique class.....Can you guess what it might be?

Pieces of Love is Kindess....

 

Another walk down memory lane with the techniques.....I have to say, that I am loving reinventing these!!  I hope you are enjoying these all as much as me!!  This one is...... Paper Piecing.

 

Here's the full card.

 

Here's another angle of the paper piecing..... stamp the image onto different coloured card stock or DSP and then cut out and adhere to the base, which is also stamped with the image.  A great way to colour a line art image, without colouring!!  I love that you can add details like the tiny polka dots on the Painted Blooms DSP.  You will also see that I've fussy cut the newspaper wrapping out of Park Lane DSP and wrapped it with some Gold Metallic Bakers Twine.

 

 

In this version, I've added a couple of tabs to adapt it to a Mother's Day Card.....Happy Mothers Day Mum!!

Crazy About You Birthday...

 

This is a fun card that I created for a girl friend's birthday, then also used in a technique class.  It features a tried and true technique called Black Magic, which has been a favourite of mine for many years.  It was one of the first techniques that I learnt when I started stamping, way back in 2008.  I love it when I see a way to reinvent one of those 'oldies'.

As you can see it's a bright, yet simple card, perfect for my friend, who loves Real Read and Wild Wasabi.
